It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…

Dear friends of Bread of Life.   Charles Dickens starts his epic book, The Tale of Two Cities by saying, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”

Since its humble beginning in a park handing out sack lunches in 1999, BOL has always been about the people we serve and the hundreds of volunteers that play a vital role in its daily operations.

THE WORST OF TIMES.  Our organization has suffered the loss of some wonderful friends during the past two months. One of our founders, Grant Kuhns, entered into heaven after a long battle with cancer. Also, the chairman of our board, John Nelson succumbed to health issues. Please keep Andrea Kuhns and Judy Nelson, their spouses, in your prayers during these difficult times.

Also, Pastor Steve Bassett and Raylene are no longer serving at the Mission. Keep them in your prayers as they work on some personal family issues at this time. Their service over the years has blessed us as we have served the community together for the past 14 years.

THE BEST OF TIMES.  With the addition of three new board members and a team of talented volunteers, steps have been taken to streamline our operations and upgrade the programs that make BOL so unique. Check out our website and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

We have downsized by 3200 sq ft without it affecting our daily activities. With many volunteers, we were able to make the necessary moves in just 28 days. The facilities look great but materials and some professional help has been costly. Would you consider a financial gift at this time to help us cover the expenses?

Some of you have become monthly donors and we thank you for your consistent giving.  It’s most helpful. We are doing all we can to cut costs but more and more people are coming to the mission because of their pressing needs.  Please drop by so we can show you all the changes.
